Shelley Roenspie

Shelley Roenspie grew up in Northern California around horses and nature. She learned early in her education an appreciation for the arts by an inspiring teacher, Mister Carmassi at the Del Oro High School. She continued her education at Sierra College enjoying her art courses there and their field trips to the many art museums in San Francisco. She was inspired by the art scene, the plethora of museums and the diverse galleries in the city by the bay and elsewhere. She travelled to the East Coast to extend her education at the Community Arts in Media in Pennsylvania.
Shortly after her stint there she moved to Oregon and became involved in equestrian jumping which furthered her love of horses. She was enthusiastic to draw upon her experiences with the horses and her love of art to capture some of these grand animals in her artworks.
Her experiences brought her to Europe where she gained an appreciation for painters and painting herself. Her equestrian paintings are unique and Shelley has been commissioned for work in her horse portraits and paintings. She now lives in Rocklin California where her love of horses and painting continues with much inspiration with her natural surroundings and experiences.
