Maya Beisner

The San Francisco Chronicle called Maya Beisner, “The queen minimalist cello.” Beisner has captivated audiences internationally and nationwide with her virtuosity, eclectic repertoire and relentless quest to redefine her instrument’s boundaries.
She has received critical acclaim by enthusiasts everywhere. Her repertoire for cello crosses cultures and genres alike. She was known for many years as the cellist of the Bang On A Can All Stars ensemble. She has continued on her solo quest in concerts and diverse shows.
She has collaborated with Louis Andriessen, Tan Dun, Brian Eno, Phillip Glass, Osvaldo Golijov, Steve Reich and Simon Shaheen, amongst other greats.In the past she has received worldwide acclaim for her multi media solo projects. Her highly successful, sold out debut performance of World to Come at  Carnegie Hall rocked the house that evening.
She also has included popular song arrangements in her songlist such as her fabulous take on Led Zepplin’s tune with multi tracked cello and drumkit. From Tango to Piazzolla, original works by Ziegler she captivates audiences in all her concerts. Mondavi will bring her to town this Spring line up with outrageous and modern elite performers!
