Kristel Durand

Kristel Durand has been photographing families and children for 13 years. Her educational background encompasses a Bachelor of Arts degree in photojournalism from San Francisco State University, as well as an extensive art history education. She is currently a member of Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley and Professional Photographers of America.
She believes a great portrait captures the essence of a person, or that of the relationship between the people being photographed. A portrait is much more than a reflection of physical features. It is a piece of art that will forever tell the story of that moment in time. With each portrait, she captures the beauty, uniqueness and the true essence of that personâs spirit. She always welcomes the opportunity to meet with new people and discuss the creation of such a portrait for their family.
