Joey Castleman was born and raised in Stockton Ca, moved to Sacramento at 10 years old. He was a roofing contractor but now he wants to dedicate his time to art. He dropped out of high school in his junior year.
Divorced at 24, he now focuses on his art. In June of 2010 he did a mural in antelope for his neighbor.
It was in people magazine special twilight edition. He has had no training and never attended an art class, so whatever comes out of his brush, is his own creation. His strong point is realism.
All murals were done with cheapest home depot flats and satins. His art mostly consists of people that stand out or jump out to his eye, because he believes the most beautiful thing ever created is a human being and you got to hit it perfect if you’re painting a specific person. That’s his specialty. Self taught, no art lessons ever, he likes to paint big. When he does a canvas. he goes as big as he can but most projects are a specific size, all acrylic for now.
