Joan Baez was born on January 9, 1941 in Staten Island, New York, the second of three daughters to Dr. Albert Baez, a physicist and Joan Bridge Baez. Her mother was English-Scottish, the daughter of an Episcopalian Minister and a professor of drama who had migrated to the United States.

Kreisburg was born in New York City. As a guitarist and composer, Jonathan has fond memories of his childhood steeped in music. He says, “I was lucky to grow up in a household that had a great and wide-ranging record collection, including Coltrane’s My Favorite Things, John William’s playing the “Concierto De Aranjuez’ and Cream’s “Disraeli Gears.”
